the tribulation is really starting to speed up it's pace.

i just read that atleast 3 types of animal and plant life go extinct every hour.

global warming threatens the entire planet, crimes against women and children are at a all time high, honeybees dying off for unexplained reasons, the threat of nuclear war, the ravage of infectious disease.

LMAO!!! Now that was a dumb move. Didn't bible prophecy or the WTS (It's been so long I can't remember) fortell money being worthless and thrown into the streets? If they even believed their own jibberish they would have kept their homes. At least the house may protect them from a few of God's fireballs during armageddon.

O WAIT!!!! They had to sell their homes in order to be able to afford enough magazines to go out full time preaching. Now I get it.

congregation behind in their donation !!!

recently at a theo night, it was mentioned that the cong was behind in their donation to the society and it was specifically mentioned that the mags and books cost $$4 and the donations weren't even with the amount of mags and books being requested.

does this not show that the society is still after the congregations for the money for "free" mags and books?

what a bunch of hyprocrites.

Not sure if I can agree there. Have you ever seen how bethelites live? The bethelites live in poverty. As a child I remember they rarely did anything because their allowance was so low. Even ones high up in the chain didnt live lavish. Yeah some cars were bought that I do know, but in all honesty I have to say that these people do think they are right and I doubt they do this for money because I never saw any with money. Once a month at every meeting, and at every convention and assembly they give an account report stating donations received and bills accumulated, than they state whether they had a surplus or deficit, and for as long as I was going it was mostly about even. On the other hand they are hypocrites but thats a whole other topic, but I really doubt that theres some high JW officials living in luxury wiping their butts with money lol.

In no way am I saying you are wrong because I agree with you that we had to evolve to adapt. What I am saying is there is no way we could have evolved in such a short span of time between now and when the bible was written, and if we could evolve that shortly we would see people evolving today.

Humans have an innate ability to adapt to certain environmental situations but that doesn't change them into other species, in fact the genetic diffferences between the races are totally minimal. It's similar to hare, bears, wolves or foxes living in the arctic their fur is white to give then better camouflage in the snow.

Well if thats the case why are australians white? I know the natives were not, I know the whites there were prisoners cast onto that island, and what about south africans? And asians, why are some asians eyes slanted like chinese and some arent like russians? As a matter of fact mongolia and russia border eachother yet the two countries inhabitants look nothing alike. If you take into account the amount of time man has been here on earth according to the bible, it gives no where near enough time for people's features to evolve to better cater to their environment.

So the bible speaks of how multiple languages came to be in babylon with the tower of babel, you all know the story. Ok so thats the bibles view on languages but what about races? How are some people light skin others dark? How do some have round almond shaped eyes while others have slanty eyes? If we were all created from the same two people why dont we all look similar? Go to any country (excluding the USA) and a good portion of the people have similar features and skintone.

I dont know where I stand on evolution or creation but evolution is teh only thing that explains race, we adapt to our environment. Whats your thoughts? It's just hard for me to trust a book thats starts off in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth goes on and on and forgets to mention key things like dinosaurs for instance.

"/sept 8th, page10 as well as the 1934 yearbook pages 134-138. i know that there are plenty of "apostate" sites quoting whats was written but i need actual hard proof like photocopies or a link with this info from the society itself.

Ha ha! Let's not forget about the quotas. When I left if I remember correctly publishers had a quota of 12 hours per month and I think 10 magazines or so. Pioneers were 90 hours and who knows the magazines they averaged. There was never a demand to place a certain amount, but boy did they have a tactful way of making you feel bad about what you did or didnt do. I remember these sheets of paper I had to fill out stating the hours I preached and magazines and books I placed. And even though we were not "forced" I do remember elders discussing why I spent so little time in service or placed such little literature in certain months. I hear things are different now about the societies view towards college(which I assume was due to all the witnesses out of work because they couldnt find work) but at the time I was there they talked badly about going to college which depressed me to the point of me dropping out of high school because I felt whats the point? The reason why I am mentioning this is due to the fact that pioneers were expected to put in 90 hours a month and not even 10% could hold down a job and do that, yet at the same time they had to donate money to get the tens or for some hundreds of magazines they placed each month. Needless to say my congregation was extremely poor.

And the 76 is for the year I was born =)

As a child I always imagined a horific event with fire coming from the skies, earthquakes and the ground opening up. Pictured the streets litered with worthless money and people screaming and trying to hide. I always pictured devout witneses standing there as if they had not a single worry and always pictured myself on the verge of a heart attack waiting, wondering if I was going to die or not. For years after and even though I don't belive it anymore still at times whenever we have abnormal weather here in NY or I see alot of birds flocking in an area I always feel for a brief second that it's about to start.

But as for now I imagine nothing because I know it's not going to happen.

Is there an online database of WTB&TS publications? I'm trying to get 1991 "Awake!"/Sept 8th, page10 as well as the 1934 yearbook pages 134-138. I know that there are plenty of "apostate" sites quoting whats was written but I need actual hard proof like photocopies or a link with this info from the society itself. Or maybe even a well known and respected website. I just want my devout JW mother to read these things and see her reaction, and there is no way she would ever visit a site like this. She may have the old bound volume for the awake but the yearbook is alot harder to come by. Any suggestions?

I have not been to a meeting in twelve years but as a former witness of thirteen years I was under the impression that the "free" literature was "free" to those in the world. Didn't the society do this for tax purposes of some sort? Or was it so they can preach in buildings since they were not "selling" anything. It's been a long time so I don't remember why it was done but to the best of my knowledge publications were "free" to the outside public but witnesses were still expected to donate.

The part I never understood was as a child I would watch my parents "donate" money for the publications they used to preach with than collected donations for them and put the money they got right back into the contribution box like many other witnesses. I always found it odd that these people would buy the literature with their own money than collect money for the literature they sold and give it back. It's like paying the society for the priveledge of going out preaching for hours.
